Looking back at my preliminary task these are the main areas I found which needed to be improved; picture quality (including shakiness of the camera) and the sound (this includes the way the final film will be edited). I felt that the quality of the sound was always high in the similar films which are out there and this gave the film a more professional feel to it. To achieve the higher level of sound I could have used an external microphone, however I decided to think more of the location and to use a room which isn't as bare, this therefore reduces the level any echoes. To improve the quality of the visuals I aimed to use the better cameras, in my case this was the Canon as to the Panasonic-Handycam. This made the shots seem more clear and had an overall higher quality. Also to reduce any shakiness of the shot I used the best tripod which fitted the camera, this allowed the camera to be still and steady when needed and then it was able to move smoothly with the handle on it.
Also when we produced the preliminary task we both had little knowledge on the editing software, for example we struggled to cut clips and initially import the clips we had taken. This therefore prompted us to learn more on how iMovie works, and we watched more YouTube clips, Googled more and asked people who are currently studying A2 media studies. This made us more able to edit the final production to a higher quality and to be more efficient, as to how we found the preliminary to be.
One problem we encountered when filming the final production was human mistakes, for example when Freddie would ask the questions in the film he occasionally messed up or when Joe would answer the questions sometimes he would miss say something. This meant that we had to re-film the questions to eliminate these mistakes from the final film. Another thing we struggled on nailing was how many shots we needed for the actual action/cricket side of the film, we found that we had more than enough shots, however some where unusable because the batter may have missed it or the connection wasn't good enough. However this was a good problem to have as to a negative one, as it meant that we had enough shots to fill it out, whereas if we didn't have enough shots it would have caused problems and would have meant we would have had to film again. This could have been problematic because of peoples tight schedules especially as the months towards exams get closer.
