Our production fits the genre of 'sports' and therefore we aimed to make are audience anyone who is a sports fan, this didn't just limit them to being cricket fans. but to people who enjoy a variety of different sports and enjoy learning more about different sports. We also aimed it at people who have an interest in learning more about the starts of the sports and not just what happens on the pitch.
We initially had an idea as to who our audience would be for this media product, our initial idea was that it would be aimed at mainly men who where above 15, but mainly to those in their 20's and upwards. So we aimed our survey more so at a male audience. The results can be found below. Although we had an idea of the age range of our audience we never planned to limit it to anyone, for example we where never going to leave in bad language which may of occurred in the interview section. This is because sports don't have age restrictions and someone under 10 may still be interested in the film and therefore by giving an age certificate would of not allowed them to view this film and their possible idol.

I then looked for more information outside of the college and looked online, where I came across more information on the typical audience of cricket, and the number of people which play or watch the sport. The ECB conducted a study which showed 1.7 million people which play recreational cricket. The survey showed that 93% of recreational cricketers where male, leaving only 7% as female cricketers. They also found that the average age for the cricketers was 31 years old.
Further in the survey we asked more questions which helped to reveal from this small pool of potential people that would be the audience, these questions where based on what sports people played and enjoyed along with how frequently they watch documentaries. Below are two of the results from the survey.
The results could have been better if we had sent the survey to more people, for example more people which Joe may of known that he played cricket with, instead we only sent it to people in our year, at our college. This therefore could have meant that the responses we got could have been similar because we knew the participants, and chose them, this means that they would have similar interests and personalities which would give us similar answers.
